Panda Upadte 2.2

Latest release which has shaken the SEO world this season has been the Google’s Panda update 2.2 which came into effect quietly by mid of June and was later announced on 21st as also reported on Search Engine Watch

Where Panda update 2.2 has brought positive changes for millions of sites, it has also hit billions of sites negatively. It wouldn’t be wrong to call them as scraper sites. As mentioned in History of Panda these are sites that have low quality content which is usually copied and pasted and Google panda has been the red alert for Web masters of such sites.

Google has always come up with the best techniques to improve its search engine. The Panda update 2.2 has hit the rankings of sites, which had generic content only and has decreased their rankings. This provides the users with only relevant content that is more helpful and most importantly is original.

You might not be worried about the latest developments of Google but if you are an online business you should make sure that your sites are free from characteristics that might be the reason for your classification as scraper or low quality site. What panda actually does is the classification of sites into High Quality, Good sites, low Quality and Scraper sites.

Your site is not at risk if it has been supplying content where users get to interact and are benefited and most importantly the content is original also your site faces huge traffic and there hasn’t been any decrease in it, then for sure you are not slapped by Panda.

To avoid being hit by the Panda updates you might want to review your work and keep a check on a number of things as follows

Firstly you have to be sure if you were hit by the Panda update 2.2. If you have noticed any decrease in the traffic from June 20 then you might have been attacked.

As mentioned earlier you should make sure that the content provided is not a copy of someone’s work and is original. Even if the work is similar you should go through it again as Panda can easily detect copied content with just two or three words changed.

If Panda hit your site but you have been honest with your work and think that your site has been mixed up with the scraper sites then you can submit your site to Google for reconsideration.

Also you should evaluate the quality of your site and should review pages individually. Make sure that you improve the quality of any pages that fall into low quality category.

If your pages have more advertisements then the content you should increase the content on it, as there are more chances for such sites to be affected.

People who visit your site and revisit it; people who have mentioned your site; people who do or do not stay on your site after visiting all statistics are of importance. If the number of people leaving your site right after visiting it has been increasing significantly then you should quickly review your content because your site is at high risk.

Stick to the SEO Optimization Rules and stop spamming keywords and content copying. Make sure your site has links and title.
